I made like 1500 photos during our tour through tchernobyls Exclusion zone. Not all locations seemed equally interessting to me, so on some locations I made like 2 pictures ... on otheres I made like 100 at least.

On the first day we visited some hermits. R.A. 150-200 people live in the Exclusion Zone (without counting those who live in Tchernobyl itself). The area we visited looked quite deserted. Though not really different to some places I know from germany.

This was the most disturbing place for me. It's an old kindergarten. I'm sure some motives are arranged by photographers that were there before us ... but it shows how fast those people had to be evacuated after the incident.

This panorama shows the area of the nuclear power plant. On the left side one can see the new sarcophagus. The constructionsite in the middle is for the last sections of the nuclear power plant. Those were in construction when the incident happend and therefore never finished. On the right (left of the photographers) you can see the cooling towers. Those were constructed for the last to sections of the NPP ...

This cooling tower was never finished. The grafitty shows one of the liquidators. Those were the men that removed the rubble around the power plant after the incident. Most of them died days or even years after the incident on the consequences of radiation.

We found those trains somewhere in a wood. The next rails were like 100 meters away. I can only assume that those trains were moved to exploit them.

The citysign of Prypjat ...

Prypjat was planed as a town for all the employees of the Tchernobyl nuclear power plant and surronding factories, agriculture and it's administration. It offered everything one could need. There were schools, resturants, lakes, sights, a stadium, a small amusementpark (everyone knows the ferris wheel of Prypjat ... so I don't need to show it here :D)
